How long do I need to wear braces?

Every patient is unique, so the length of time you'll need to wear your dental braces will depend on your individual needs and treatment plan. On average, most patients wear braces for 1-3 years.

Can I play sports or musical instruments with metal or clear braces?

Of course! We encourage our patients to stay active and pursue their passions, even with braces. If you play contact sports, we recommend wearing a mouthguard, and taking extra care when playing wind instruments to avoid damaging your braces.

How often do I need to come in for adjustments?

We typically recommend that patients come in for adjustments every 4-6 weeks. However, we may adjust the schedule as needed based on your progress.

Can I still eat my favorite foods with braces?

While you may need to make some adjustments to your diet during your treatment, you can still enjoy most of your favorite foods. We recommend avoiding hard, sticky, or chewy foods that can damage your braces, and cutting up harder foods like apples into smaller pieces to make them easier to eat.
